Warm up with hot tourism deals across South Australia this winter

South Australians are being urged to make the most of more than 400 deals and events at tourism destinations across the state, with significant savings on offer during winter.

From special offers and bonuses to extra nights free, there are options for every budget and taste, all listed as part of the ‘Celebrate the Simple Pleasures of Winter’ campaign.

The South Australian Tourism Commission’s winter campaign has been designed to support the tourism industry during the cooler, off-peak season, and as the Whale Watching season begins, South Australia is proving winter is just as special across the state.

Families can find cabins for less than $100 a night at Echo Holiday Parks around the state, Discovery Parks has a stay four nights - only pay for three deal, and CABN is offering the third night free on stays during winter.

Bill’s Boathouse in the Riverland is sweetening their deal, offering bonus grazing boxes and wine during a two-night stay, while the Eyre Peninsula’s Port Lincoln Hotel is offering discounted rates.

Ocean View Cabins in Fowlers Bay gets cheaper the more nights you book, while in the Outback, Bendleby Range is offering a fifth night free on week-long stays, the perfect change for some school holiday stargazing.

There are free events for families, including several based around the famed Giant Australian Cuttlefish during Whyalla’s Cuttlefest, while the Winter Whale Festival in Victor Harbor celebrates the migration of the Southern Right Whales.

In the Limestone Coast, delve into history at the Naracoorte Homestead or head to Mount Gambier for the Tower Trail Run. All through winter, Gutsy Kangaroo Island celebrates the region’s boldest flavours with a full program of delicious delights.

Kids (aged 3 to 15) can join River Murray Dark Sky Tours for free, while the parents can take in a discounted mid-week wine and chocolate paring in a historic Barossa homestead.

The campaign is targeting audiences in South Australia and key interstate markets, with marketing activity running across outdoor, radio, digital and social media until 31 August.

Locals will also get a reminder that now’s the time to book, with special postcards delivered this weekend in The Advertiser and Sunday Mail directing potential travellers to discover the deals available on southaustralia.com or via the Explore South Australia app.

South Australian tourism operators are invited to be part of the campaign – find out how at tourism.sa.gov.au.

Tourism Minister Emily Bourke said, “Getting out in the cooler weather not only gives you the chance to reset and unwind, but importantly, it supports our tourism operators and regional economies during the off-peak season.”

“With the June Long Weekend, and the school holidays coming up, now’s the time to plan.”

“There are many unique experiences that can only be enjoyed in the cooler months, such as whale watching, fireside feasts, and longer nights allowing more time for star gazing under a dark sky.”

“Our event calendar doesn’t slow down for winter with festivals like Illuminate Adelaide, Winter Reds in the Adelaide Hills, Gutsy Kangaroo Island, Cuttlefest in Eyre Peninsula, and Winter Whale Festival in the Fleurieu Peninsula, just to name a few.”
