Industry Update - South Australia welcomes you back

With restrictions on intrastate travel and outdoor dining eased this week for South Australians, the South Australian Tourism Commission is supporting regions to ‘Welcome Back’ visitors.
South Australia is not only easing restrictions on regional travel, South Australians are encouraged to get out and about across their state's 11 regions and across the city – while maintaining social distancing. In addition, cafes and restaurants can open for a maximum of 10 people outside, a positive first step for the state’s industry.
To welcome the resumption of intrastate travel and outdoor dining, the SATC is using imagery from across South Australia’s iconic regions with a focus on nature-based experiences, road-tripping and camping, to align with stage one in the State Government’s roadmap to recovery.
To help ensure South Australians feel welcomed back, the SATC has designed region-specific collateral so that regional tourism partners and operators have tailored content to post on their own social media platforms and help strengthen the ‘welcome back’ message.
It all kicked off on Monday 11 May at Adelaide Oval with SATC chief executive Rodney Harrex, and SA-icon Hans, as well as a countdown video featuring notable South Australians celebrating the easing of the first raft of restrictions.
Watch the countdown of a different kind here. Consumers can go to southaustralia.com to explore how travel restrictions have been lifted and start planning their next trip in SA.
A video 'South Australia, we've missed you' features imagery from across the state's regions, focusing on road trips, cycling, camping, nature-based experiences and the wide open spaces that the state has in abundance. The video will be shared on SATC's social and digital channels to encourage South Australians to get out and explore their own backyard.
