Emirates touches down, Kaurna Pageant float revealed & more…

In a major milestone for our international market, Emirates has recommenced its daily flights to Adelaide with the first flight touching down Monday night. The return of the major international airline is expected to have a $160 million annual economic impact, including $62 million in tourism expenditure. It will also connect South Australia to around 140 destinations worldwide, including our key markets such as Europe and the USA.

Premier Peter Malinauskas, Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison, Emirates Executive Vice President Passenger Sales and Country Management Nabil Sultan and Emirates Divisional Vice President Australasia Barry Brown celebrated this milestone.

Our regional industry forums have been off to a great start, as the SATC Executive team have been hearing from our industry about refreshing our Visitor Economy Sector Plan 2030. Thank you to all those who have taken the time to meet with us as we work towards future proofing our state’s visitor economy.

Congratulations to Dandelion Vineyards in McLaren Vale for taking home the Global Best of Wine Tourism Award in Architecture and Landscape. The accolade will further promote South Australia on the world stage.

With only a few more sleeps until the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, the final float has been revealed: Kumangka malturri – apinthi, pronounced “koo-mung-car mal-doo-ree a-pin-dee.” This translates to “Coming Together” in Kaurna language, a sentiment that aligns with this year’s Pageant theme and honours the Kaurna culture.
