Be part of Tasting Australia, Hills visit, roadshow success & more…

I have spent part of this week in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, joining the Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison on site visits to some of the tourism gems in the region. This included visits to Ambleside Distillers, Lot.100, Union Bridge, Jurlique, and Howard Vineyard, as well as an Adelaide Hills Tourism Board meeting at Mount Lofty House.

The visits aligned with the State Government’s Country Cabinet in Mount Barker over the past two days. A special thank you to our Adelaide Hills Regional Tourism Manager Tanya Jarman for helping coordinate the itinerary and taking the time to meet with us.

Today, I will be joining Tourism Australia’s industry webinar – an opportunity to update stakeholders across the country on the impressive achievements being made here in SA, and what’s still in store for 2023.

I encourage you to join the free webinar, which will be a chance to also hear from Tourism Australia Managing Director Phillipa Harrison and the Federal Minister for Trade & Tourism Senator Don Farrell.

Register now to join the Tourism Australia webinar today at 10:30am here.

Operators who helped showcase SA to some of our state’s key global markets earlier this year as part of our US and UK/Europe roadshows, came together this week at Parliament House.

I joined Minister Bettison to thank operators for their commitment to recovering international tourism, and we heard how they are seeing bookings come to their business off the back of the roadshows.

The feedback highlighted the importance of opportunities to build one on one connections with international trade as we work to recover our once $1.2 billion international visitor economy.

With dates confirmed for Tasting Australia 2024, we are now calling for operators to get involved in the associated events program. Applications are now open to host an associated event in the 2024 program and leverage the visitors and reputation of the nation’s longest running eating, drinking and culinary festival.
