MISSION STATEMENT

The SATC is committed to offering a safe and inclusive workspace for LGBTIQ+ people and communities, and to ensure every visitor in South Australian - regardless of background, ability, or identity - can participate and feel genuinely welcome.

About Welcome With Pride

The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) is the first tourism board to achieve Welcome With Pride Accreditation in the country and has earned a Silver Award.

The accreditation recognises that the SATC has met strict criteria chosen by LGBTIQ+ communities, and has trained staff to understand LGBTIQ+ experiences, identities and how to use inclusive language.

The SATC is committed to meaningful action to foster inclusivity for staff and support the state’s tourism industry to understand, respect, and celebrate people of all identities.

PROMOTING LGBTIQ+ TOURISM OPERATORS

The SATC is committed to showcasing diversity and inclusivity of South Australia and ensure South Australia is a welcoming place for all.

To prominently showcase Welcome with Pride accredited organisations, a dedicated Inclusive Travel in South Australia page is featured on southaustralia.com.

This page also highlights operators who while not accredited have stated that they are welcoming to the LGBTIQ+ community.

Operators who can demonstrate their support of the LGBTIQ+ community and would like to be featured on this page can contact [email protected].

The SATC encourages operators who are interested in becoming Welcome with Pride accredited to complete the Welcome with Pride training and accreditation process. For more information, visit welcomewithpride.com

Acknowledgement of Country

Standing on Kaurna Country, the South Australian Tourism Commission recognises the uniquely diverse Aboriginal communities across the state.

We value the knowledge Aboriginal people hold of Country and culture and are committed to growing genuine relationships with Traditional Custodians.

We will continue our journey of reconciliation and support Aboriginal tourism operators and communities to tell their own stories and share their culture with the world.
