Today will see the weekend action kick off at the Superloop Adelaide 500, with the highly anticipated first race of the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

The event will honour some of South Australia's bravest with a 'Parade of Heroes' on Pit Straight before Supercars Race 1, to recognise the Emergency Services personnel and non-government organisations (NGO) for their tireless efforts during the bushfire crisis across the state this summer.

It will be a fun family day out at the City of Adelaide Family Zone, including the Big Wedgie, Rev It Up racing simulators and activations from some of South Australia's favourite sporting teams.

On track, the Supercars Championship gets serious with the first progressive qualifying session before the thrilling Top Ten Shootout to finalise the grid positions for Race 1 later in the day.

Yesterday’s near-perfect weather conditions saw an estimated 46,450 attendees descend on the iconic Adelaide street circuit.

Popular Australian artists Pete Murray and Sheppard will then take to the stage for night two of the 2020 Superloop Adelaide 500 after race concert series.

Tickets are still available – visit the Superloop500 website for more details.
