Santos Festival of Cycling brings Aussie music star Josh Pyke to City of Adelaide Festival Village
Singer/songwriter Josh Pyke has been revealed as the headline entertainment at the City of Adelaide Festival Village on Wednesday 26 January.
Four-time ARIA Award winner Josh Pyke, who is set to release a new album in March entitled Circle of Light, said it will be a buzz to close such a fantastic sporting event in Australia.
“As an advocate for the arts in this country, it’s pleasing to see this unique cycling event source local talent and showcase what we have to offer on a national and international scale,” said Josh.
“I am incredibly excited to be part of it and play in front of a full house in the festival state, and I’m sure South Australians will find the concert both unique and wonderfully entertaining.”
Events South Australia Executive Director, Hitaf Rasheed said Josh will perform at the City of Adelaide Festival Village at a free concert on Wednesday 26 January.
“It’s sure to be the biggest night of the event and we’re excited to welcome Josh to Adelaide.
“We know there is incredible support from the people of South Australia to showcase home-grown talent. We are confident Josh will put on a great show to close out a great day of cycling and entertainment,” said Ms Rasheed.
With the performing arts and events industry significantly impacted by COVID-19, Ms Rasheed said the free concert will add to the festival atmosphere.
“As we put on a celebration of cycling, we are also keen to celebrate the arts and to put on some fabulous entertainment for all the people who come out and support the Santos Festival of Cycling.
Josh Pyke’s performance will start at 8:40pm to 9:50pm on Wednesday 26 January at the City of Adelaide Festival Village in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.
