River Revival Voucher next round details

The next round of our River Revival Voucher program has today been announced – and it introduces some exciting changes which reflect the feedback and insights we’ve collected from operators, industry and consumers.

Voucher recipients will have longer to travel and more options to choose from – including a houseboat holiday. A new ‘second chance’ draw will mean they also have double the chance of securing a River Revival Voucher – and mean those vouchers that aren’t redeemed within the first booking period will be cancelled and re-issued, helping to drive maximum benefit to businesses.

In planning this next round of vouchers, we held sessions with operators across the Riverland and Murray River, Lakes & Coorong regions to seek their feedback and insights from the first round. We also sent a survey to consumers who didn’t redeem their vouchers to identify any potential barriers to making a booking.

The first round has already resulted into an unprecedented injection of financial stimulus into specific tourism regions, with more than $1.8 million generated in voucher bookings alone.

Operators in the Riverland and Murray River, Lakes, and Coorong regions can submit an Expression of Interest to be part of the next round of vouchers from Thursday 1 June until 5pm Tuesday 6 June.

The upcoming ballot will be open to South Australians and cross-border communities in New South Wales and Victoria.

It is terrific to be introducing houseboat operators to the scheme, after feedback that this sector is now ready to welcome guests after only recently returning to full scale operations.

Key dates:

  • Operator Expressions of Interest to participate: 1 – 6 June
  • Ballot registration: 19 to 21 June
  • Ballot draw and successful recipients notified: 22 June
  • Booking dates for first chance draw: 22 June – 25 July
  • Travel Period: 23 June – 30 November
  • Second chance draw: 27 July
  • Booking dates for second chance draw: 27 July – 22 August
  • Travel period: 28 July – 30 November 2023.

Thank you again to those who have given us their insights. We will continue to work closely with you as we rollout the program to ensure it delivers maximum economic impact for businesses across the river regions.
