Qantas adds extra flights during Kangaroo Island ferry closure

Qantas has added extra flights to Kangaroo Island during the temporary suspension of SeaLink ferry services in October, following discussions with the State Government aimed at supporting KI residents, businesses and visitors during the transition to the new ferry fleet.

 
SeaLink will temporarily suspend regular ferry services on Tuesday 20 October, Wednesday 21 October and Thursday 22 October while it undertakes infrastructure works associated with the commissioning of the new ferries.
 
To support connectivity during this period, Qantas will operate an additional service departing Adelaide at 4:30pm on each of the three days, with a return flight departing Kingscote at 5:40pm.
 
The additional services complement Qantas' existing daily morning service from Adelaide, which typically departs at 9:30am. Afternoon services already operate on Mondays and Fridays.
 
The extra flights will provide more than 400 additional seats to and from Kangaroo Island across the three-day period, giving travellers and visitors more options while ferry services are unavailable.
