New luxury cruise ship visits SA, Journey Beyond partners with Tasting Australia
Today we welcome luxury cruise line Silversea’s new ship to South Australia, as ‘Silver Nova’ docked in Outer Harbor this morning, before it heads to Kangaroo Island tomorrow. Passengers will have the opportunity to experience a variety on shore excursions across the Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Adelaide, and Kangaroo Island.
SA’s inclusion on the Silversea’s itinerary is a direct result of our continued conversations with leading cruise stakeholders to grow the number of ships and depth of itineraries across our state.
South Australia was well represented at Tourism Australia’s Marketplace in London last week. Operators representing our state’s appealing offerings for this key international market met with the more than 110 key distribution partners, such as travel agencies and tour operators from across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Recognising the growing potential of Scandinavian markets for South Australia, the team also hosted a successful post-marketplace event in Copenhagen. This is part of our work to not only recover but grow our international visitors by targeting key markets with high potential for our state.
Further showcasing why South Australia should be on the itinerary of every tour agent was the South Australia - Uncorked! industry event in Sydney this week. Hosted by the SATC, this allowed almost 40 operators to share updates on their businesses to both domestic and internationally relevant tourism buyers, who play a vital role in the distribution system.
Thank you to all the operators that attended these vital industry trade events, which help promote our entire state as a must-visit destination.
Yesterday we welcomed Journey Beyond to the Tasting Australia team, as the nation’s largest experiential tourism group signed on as official event partners in 2025. At the heart of all Journey Beyond experiences is the commitment to take guests further and create special moments for travellers, making it an ideal partner for Tasting Australia.

Our Regional Roadshows continue to bring together our industry across the state’s tourism regions. Over this week I, along with the SATC’s Executive team, have visited Barossa, Clare Valley, and Yorke Peninsula. These sessions have been extremely insightful and are helping inform the refresh of our 2030 Visitor Economy Sector Plan.
There is still an opportunity to register for upcoming forums. Please see details of remaining sessions below.
Finally, congratulations to Beerenberg and Watervale Hotel/Penobscot Farm for taking home the inaugural Agritourism award at the South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards last week. The businesses are recognised for their excellence in connecting people to their product or produce through a direct ‘on farm’ experience.
