Kicking off on 20 July, FIFA Fan Festival™ at Festival Plaza is set to be the go-to destination to watch and celebrate the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ in Adelaide/Tarntanya.
The FIFA Fan Festival™ will be free to enter, offering the perfect location to watch FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ matches live in a festive atmosphere, as well as staging an exciting entertainment program showcasing the best of South Australia and beyond.
The program features free concerts from Kimbra, San Cisco and Montaigne and a South Australian music showcase, along with dance and cultural performances, a family-friendly space featuring a mini pitch for football clinics and demonstrations, as well as dart football, a reaction station and other activities. Plus, a showcase of the state’s exceptional culinary scene curated by Callum Hann.
FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer, Sarai Bareman said the FIFA Fan Festival in Adelaide/Tarntanya will be a place where avid fans and football newcomers from all over the globe unite to celebrate women’s football and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
"We invite everyone to come and experience football, music, entertainment, local culture, food, and games in a diverse and welcoming environment at the vibrant Festival Plaza," Ms Bareman said.
Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison said the FIFA Fan Festival™ offered another reason to visit the heart of Adelaide this winter.
“This continues to be an impressive year for events in South Australia and hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 is a great opportunity to showcase our state to a global audience,” Minister Bettison said.
“The FIFA Fan Festival shows Adelaide’s vibrant culture, diverse and Indigenous communities and passion for football, giving local, national and international visitors more reasons to see South Australia.”
Menu curator Callum Hann will showcase the exceptional produce of South Australia by using local, seasonal ingredients across a diverse range of cuisines.
“The menu for FIFA Fan Festival has been developed to highlight the amazing produce and producers we have here in South Australia through a range of exciting cuisines including Argentinean, Chinese, Spanish, English and American,” said Mr. Hann.
“The space will be a chance for people to discover other cultures, celebrate the world game and come together over food, drinks, sport and entertainment.”
Headlining the entertainment program is two-time Grammy Award winning popstar Kimbra, who will take the stage for one night only on Friday 21 July. San Cisco will perform on Saturday 5 August and Montaigne on Friday 11 August, with a South Australian band showcase on Saturday 19 August.
Kimbra said it is really exciting to be back in Adelaide to play the FIFA Fan Festival celebrating the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“I love the chance to share a stage with other awesome Aussie artists like San Cisco and Montaigne and experience the unique and rich culture of South Australia,” Kimbra said.
