Book a stay in SA!
A second round of Great State tourism vouchers will be available from 11am ACDT tomorrow – this time, open to all Australians.
A longer time to travel and a greater range of accommodation providers will give consumers more choice and flexibility about where and when to book their stay.
The South Australian Tourism Commission has expanded the second voucher round to all Australians over the age of 18 – who are eligible to secure one $100 voucher for a CBD hotel and one $50 voucher for a suburban or regional stay. A separate allocation of vouchers for interstaters will help incentivise travel to SA while still ensuring there are vouchers reserved exclusively for South Australians.
Premier Steven Marshall today urged South Australians and Australians to get online for their chance to access some of the best accommodation deals, including the soon-to-open Majestic M Suites in North Adelaide.
“With over 300 places to stay across the state, offering some of the best deals at the best time of year to travel, South Australians and interstaters have never had a better reason to book a stay in SA,” Premier Marshall said.
“From BIG4 Naracoorte Holiday Park on the Limestone Coast for $50 a night, to the city’s newest hotels including the brand new EOS by Sky City for $499 and Crowne Plaza Adelaide starting from just $99, or the soon-to-open Majestic M Suites for only $99 – there is something for everyone’s taste and budget.
“The first round of vouchers injected $10 million into our state’s economy, with the tens of thousands of discounted room night bookings giving people more time and more money to spend on experiences like the Naracoorte Caves, Granite Island Tram or the Adelaide Zoo.
“With an additional round expanded to include interstate travellers, who we know spend more than intrastate, as well as the peak summer holiday period and events like the Santos Festival of Cycling and WOMADelaide, this stimulus comes at exactly the right time to further bolster tourism businesses and create jobs.”
South Australian Tourism Commission Chief Executive Rodney Harrex said the first round was a huge success and welcomed new operators to the expanded scheme.
“I've been out in the regions, talking with operators from the Limestone Coast to the CBD, who reported a surge in bookings thanks to the first round of Great State vouchers and enjoyed the extra visitation the scheme drove," Mr Harrex said.
“We know summer is going to be key for the recovery of tourism in SA, and with an additional round of vouchers that is open to interstate visitors, as well as a range of new accommodation providers signed up, I look forward to the boost this brings to our state's visitor economy.”
South Australian owned and operated Majestic Hotels & Apartments, has included five of its six hotels to the Great State voucher second round, including the highly anticipated Majestic M Suites in North Adelaide which opens this month.
Majestic M Suites offers 91 beautifully appointed 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites featuring a kitchen, laundry and private balconies with many suites on the higher floors capturing breathtaking panoramic views of Adelaide and the city.
This newest addition is one of six properties across the group, which includes Majestic Minima Hotel, Majestic Old Lion Apartments and Majestic Tynte Street Apartments also in North Adelaide, as well as the popular Majestic Roof Garden Hotel in the CBD, and Majestic Oasis Apartments in Port Augusta.
Majestic Hotels & Apartments' CEO Eoin Loftus said the team is thrilled the second round will include Majestic M Suites and the decision to extend the offer to interstate visitors will generate strong interest which is “exactly what we are after, especially after the substantial number of bookings we enjoyed from South Australians in the first round”.
“The increased demand and volume of bookings placed a spotlight on Majestic Hotels & Apartments properties last year which was a tremendous help at a time when we were seeing more locals get out and about,” Mr Loftus said.
“Inviting interstate guests for this round just in time for the peak summer period, is exactly what we need to keep the domestic tourism momentum going, and we are delighted Majestic M Suites is participating just as we are about to open our doors.”
