Adelaide ready to host golf’s stars at women’s Australian Open
With just one week to go until the 2026 women’s Australian Open, Kooyonga Golf Club and Adelaide is ready to welcome the nation’s brightest stars as well as a host of international talent from March 12-15.
Major Champions Hannah Green, Grace Kim and Minjee Lee headline the field, alongside fellow LPGA Tour members Steph Kyriacou, Cassie Porter and Karis Davidson, competing for a prize fund of A$1,700,000.
The prize fund is the largest of the season on the WPGA Tour of Australasia and the most lucrative on the Ladies European Tour outside events co-sanctioned with the LPGA or that feature on the PIF Global Series. It is also the first time in WPGA Tour history that members have competed for more than A$3,000,000 across four consecutive weeks.
Just last week, Green won her seventh LPGA Tour title as she won the HSBC Women’s World Championship for a second time in her career. The Western Australian finished three strokes ahead of Lee in third, with Porter also recording a top-20 result.
No stranger to staging major international events, ‘The Festival State’ is continuing to build on its growing reputation as a premier destination for major events, with Kooyonga also adding to its hosting pedigree, which includes two previous editions of the national Open, as well as international and interstate championships.
Co-sanctioned between both the WPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour for the first time since 2016, the field includes 144 competitors from 38 countries.
Tickets are still available via Ticketek to see some of the world’s best golfers in action across all four days at Kooyonga Golf Club, with single-day, multiple-day and hospitality offerings available. Entry to the Wednesday’s star-studded Pro-Am is free.
Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas said "we are thrilled to have secure the women’s Australian Open for the next three years and look forward to welcoming some of the world’s best golfers, and golfing fans from around the country next week."
