Star of TV’s River Cottage Australia Paul West will headline a line-up of international chefs at
next year’s Tasting Australia.

Tourism Minister Leon Bignell said Tasting Australia was the perfect blend of world-class talent
and outstanding South Australian produce.

“South Australians are passionate about our food and wine and Tasting Australia is a fantastic
opportunity to showcase our produce to the world,” he said.

“Paul is an avid supporter of sustainable farming and will appear alongside food writer Mark
Kurlansky (United States) and Mission Street Food founder Anthony Myint (United States),” Mr
Bignell said.

The line-up also includes Mission Chinese Food chef de cuisine Chris Kiyuna (United States),
Lentil Underground author Liz Carlisle (United States), artisan butcher and Basque livestock
breeder Pierre Oteiza (France) and Singapore-based chef Dave Pynt whose restaurant, Burnt
Ends, is among the world’s top 50.

“Executive chef of Melbourne’s Chin Chin, Benjamin Cooper, three-time winner of The Age’s
Chef of the Year Andrew McConnell and MasterChef 2015 finalist Jessie Spiby will also add to
the dynamic line up,” Mr Bignell said.

“There will be some familiar faces too: paddock to plate champion and Agrarian Kitchen
maestro Rodney Dunn, Matt Wilkinson of Pope Joan and former Rockpool executive chef and
now Carriageworks Farmers Market director Mike McEnearney are all returning.”

Tasting Australia creative director and renowned chef Simon Bryant said the level of talent
secured for next year’s event was unprecedented.

“These guests are masters of their craft – whether it’s cooking or producing – and they have
assimilated their culture, their history, their traditions and the area to produce the very best.”
A first release of tickets to feature events such as the Origins Dinner and Cheong Liew’s tribute
dinner will go on sale this Thursday 19 November.

A second release will occur when the full Tasting Australia program is announced next year.
