In another coup for the increasingly dynamic Adelaide Fashion Festival, Mercedes-Benz Adelaide has been secured as the event’s presenting partner.

Tourism Minister Leon Bignell today officially announced the partnership at the Mercedes-Benz showroom at Mile End.

“Mercedes-Benz is synonymous with leading design, innovation, high value, elegance and authenticity and these are the hallmarks of the Adelaide Fashion Festival,” Mr Bignell said.

The event will be known as Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes–Benz Adelaide.

“Mercedes-Benz is such an iconic brand and it has been committed to fashion for over a decade. It has been heavily involved in sponsoring national and international fashion events in New York, Berlin, Los Angeles, Miami and Mexico,” Mr Bignell said.

“For the Festival to secure this luxury brand as presenting partner is indicative of the quality and class to be expected during the four day event in October.”

Mercedes-Benz Adelaide General Manager David Upton said the partnership was a perfect fit for their brand.

“It is a natural fit for Mercedes-Benz Adelaide to be the presenting partner of the newly invigorated Adelaide Fashion Festival, as our brand proudly has a strong association with fashion throughout the world and in Australia,” Mr Upton said.

“We are excited to see Adelaide fashion and Mercedes-Benz Adelaide on the global fashion stage,” he said.

Mr Bignell said the AFF was rapidly gaining momentum and Paolo Sebastian’s runway show had already sold out and, due to demand, a second showing would be added to the program.

The designer of Paolo Sebastian, Paul Vasileff, said he was extremely grateful for the Paolo Sebastian label, not only for this show but over the past few years.

“I am so honoured to have two shows. I can’t thank everyone enough,” Mr Vasileff said.

Adelaide Fashion Festival will showcase both established and up-and-coming South Australian designers from October 22 – 25.
