ARIA award winning artist Jessica Mauboy will headline the 2016 Santos Tour Down Under Team Presentation concert event next month.
Tourism Minister Leon Bignell said the free concert would be held in the Adelaide City Council Tour Village on January 16.
“Jess has sold more than two million albums and has a trophy cabinet full of awards. She is talented, fun and hard-working and the perfect fit for the Santos Tour Down Under.
“The Santos Tour Down Under is the opening race of the UCI WorldTour in 2016 and there is no better way to start the event than with the Team Presentation and concert celebrations on day one.
“The Tour Village is the place to see all the teams as they are presented on stage and officially welcomed to South Australia by the fans.
“Cycling legends Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen will be there to interview all the crowd favorites and once the teams have been presented, Jess will take to the stage.
“This will be a sensational night and will help create excitement for what is a brilliant week of competitive racing and great local and regional activities.”
Jessica Mauboy said she was looking forward to returning to South Australia.
“I always have a great time performing in South Australia as there is such a good vibe and I have heard only good things about the Santos Tour Down Under,” she said.
“I can’t wait to be part of the Festival of cycling performing at the official Team Presentation event.”
The Team Presentation and FREE concert event celebrations kick off at 6pm on Saturday 16 January 2016 in the Adelaide City Council Tour Village.
