A Coober Pedy hotel has received top honours in a survey undertaken by the world’s largest
online hotel search site.

Down to Erth was rated best accommodation in South Australia in the 2015 reputation
rankings survey released by trivago.

Acting Tourism Minister Ian Hunter said Down to Erth – which has received the award two
years in a row - was also the only South Australian hotel to make the top ten in the national list.

“It’s really pleasing to see so many other South Australian destinations also make the list
including McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Port Augusta, Hahndorf, Port Lincoln, Victor Harbor,
Kingscote, Robe and Tanunda,” Mr Hunter said.

“McLaren Vale was one of five South Australian destinations for online hotel reputation to
feature among the country’s best and placed fourth in Australia.

“We have a lot to celebrate in South Australia and we really hold our own in this survey.

“Almost half of the top 30 hotels in the state are in Adelaide and our newest accommodation in
the city, The Mayfair Hotel, has done exceptionally well, named as the top hotel in Adelaide
and second in South Australia.”

Dacia Thai, Communications Associate for trivago Australia and New Zealand said South
Australian hotels and destinations are much loved by travellers.

“From desert escapes to island getaways, vineyards and beaches, South Australia is truly
unique.”

The trivago Reputation Ranking is based on over 200 million aggregated ratings compiled by
trivago from over 250 online booking websites.

Regions must have more than 1000 ratings and more than 12 hotels and hotels must have
350 ratings.
