Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend more fun over four days

28 April 2016

Hon Leon Bignell MP
Minister for Tourism

The Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend now includes an extra day so visitors have more time to enjoy the region’s world-class wine and beer.

Now in its 32nd year, more than 20 participating wineries are taking part this year.

More than 5500 people are expected to attend the event with 60 per cent coming from elsewhere in South Australia.

The extra day will be Monday, May 16.

The Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend will be held in the Clare Valley from May 13-16, 2016.

It was initially started to celebrate the end of vintage as well as to focus on the region's award-winning food and wine.

The Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend offers visitors the chance to meet the winemakers and learn first-hand what makes our wines and the region so special.

The natural beauty of the Clare Valley provides the perfect backdrop and there are plenty of ways to get there with buses leaving from Adelaide, Gawler and the Barossa Valley.

There is also plenty of ways to taste your favourite wine with the Gourmet Hub at the Clare Valley Discovery Centre.

The Hub allows for wineries without cellar doors to showcase their wines in a central location so visitors can experience up and coming wines and wine makers of the future.
