2016 Australian Swimming Championships - Men's 100m Final
South Australia has a celebrated history of delivering world-class events, and in 2016 secured the coveted title of Best Event State at the Australian Event Awards for the second year running. This is a major accolade for South Australia and a testament to its outstanding reputation for hosting quality events.

2017 Australian Open Water Swimming Championships
Top swimmers will compete at Adelaide’s beautiful Brighton beach for the Australian Open Water Swimming Championships from 27 – 29 January.
2017 Man v Machine: Mundine v Green II
History will be made in Adelaide on 3 February 2017 as boxers Anthony Mundine and Danny Green battle as Man v Machine for ultimate bragging rights in their long-awaited rematch.
The brilliant and provocative Barrie Kosky returns to Adelaide with his masterpiece, George Frideric Handel’s Saul.
2017 UneARTh Fringe in Whyalla
Whyalla’s foreshore welcomes transforms into uneARTh Fringe in Whyalla 14 – 15 April, as Adelaide Fringe events are hosted for the first time with circus, music, cabaret and more.
2017 Fringe in Mt Gambier
Fringe in Mt Gambier promises a sensational program of visual arts events, spectacular performances and jazz on 24 – 25 March.
2017 Pacific School Games
From 3 – 9 December Pacific School Games will take place in Adelaide and provides opportunities for 4,000 school students to participate in 11 sports. Adelaide last hosted The School Sport Australia event in 2015, with that event injecting $13.6 million into the South Australian economy.
2017 FIFA World Cup Qualifier: Socceroos v Saudi Arabia
The Caltex Socceroos will return to Adelaide Oval on 8 June in their quest to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in the Round 3 Qualifier Match.
2017 NRL: Sydney Roosters v Melbourne Storm
The Sydney Roosters v Melbourne Storm in the first NRL clash at the redeveloped Adelaide Oval On 24 June 2017.
2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Short Course Swimming Championships
This event will feature top swimmers in action at the state-of-the-art SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre in Marion. The Short Course Swimming Championships will take place from 26 – 28 October.
2018 Special Olympics National Games
More than 1,000 athletes with an intellectual disability will compete in the Special Olympics from16 – 20 April, across Adelaide in 12 Olympic-style and demonstration sports.
2018 Australian University Games
In September, more than 6,500 Australian university students will compete in over 30 sports in a bid to be crowned national university champions at the Australian University Games.
Lifesaving World Championships Adelaide 2018
This Lifesaving World Championships Adelaide 2018 in November are set to be the largest lifesaving event ever held, with Adelaide hosting both the World Youth Championships and Lifesaving World Championships. The two events are expected to generate $18 million for the South Australian economy and feature more than 10,000 people from over 40 countries.
2019 Australian Scouts Jamboree
Between 3 – 14 January, around 17,000 people will converge on The Bend Motorsport Park for the 25th Australian Scout Jamboree. Comprising Scouts, Cubs and Leaders from Australia, USA and UK, Tailem Bend will become one of Australia’s most active and vibrant towns in early January.
