ATDW Accommodation Update

As of 1st of December 2018, all accommodation listings on ATDW will require room numbers.

This information will be extremely useful to the SATC for several reasons.

It will provide SATC with the following:
  • Increased understanding of the room stock in regions.
  • Ability to look at room stock for establishments with less than 10 rooms not covered by STR Global. Operators under this level are currently not collected leading to potential government decisions skewed towards larger operators, more often found in cities.
  • Understand where there is a lack of room stock.
  • Monitor the regional room stock change from year to year.
  • Effect of potential funding programs on improving existing room stock or developing additional room stock.
Thank you for your cooperation in providing the required information.

Jacob’s Creek is the home of the Jacob’s Creek wine brand and is situated in Australia’s most famous wine region, the Barossa Valley, South Australia and is just a one hour drive from the centre of Adelaide.

Jacob’s Creek also offers a variety of food and wine experiences to enhance visitors' knowledge of food and wine matching. Outside, visitors can tour the demonstration vineyard, take a walk or cycle through the picturesque grounds.

Meet The Tourism Development Coordinator at Jacob’s Creek and St Hugo: Samantha Sutch

What is your favourite thing to do in South Australia?
I personally love food and wine… if you can add some live music and friends into the mix, you have magic! Luckily, I’m in the right state to explore wine regions, drink a glass or two and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Some favourites would be Artisans of the Barossa, Yelland & Paps, Goldings, Pike & Joyce or Petaluma.

What is a fun fact not many people know about you?
That I have been to the world’s highest Irish bar… it was on my way back down from Everest Base Camp in the town of Namche Bazaar at 3,440m above sea level – a very well-deserved pit stop may I just add!

What do you love about ATDW?
That ATDW is a one-stop-shop for us in the sense that we can list our sites, restaurants and experiences and this is promoted nationally. The system is easy to use and I’ve listed our properties under three categories ‘Food & Drink’, ‘Attraction’ and ‘Tour’ which helps us to get the most exposure out of the system. There is also a great support system behind ATDW with our local Tourism Body, SATC who are always there to offer guidance and advice.
